Hawthorne Coffee Roasters

Here at The Coffee Collective, we are delighted to bring you the fantastic range from Hawthorne Coffee Roasters, including their award-winning coffee blends and Swiss Water Decaf coffee. Est. 1999 in Havelock North, New Zealand, let's take a look into the Hawthorne Coffee story below.

The Roastery

"It’s no big surprise that a great cup of coffee starts with great beans. That’s why we source only the finest 100% Arabica coffee beans to use in each of our 5 award-winning blends, roasting them to perfection in our state-of-the-art Probat roaster.

Our beans come from all over the world, each with very different characteristics and unique flavour profiles. Our blends represent something of a ‘roast-spectrum’ - from the rich, dark Hawthorne Blend down to the light and fragrant Te Mata Triple Blend. Each of our blends possess properties which are best appreciated with particular brewing styles, but this isn’t to say that our coffee is delicious any way you choose to prepare it.

Not only do we roast coffee for our own espresso bar, but we also supply coffee to a number of cafes, restaurants, offices and homes New Zealand wide. We blend, roast, bag, and dispatch every day of the week, ensuring that our coffee reaches its destination at the peak of freshness - because we know there’s nothing worse than old coffee."

The Espresso Bar

"Our Espresso Bar is attached to the roastery in Havelock North, serving visitors and villagers alike with their daily caffeine fix.

We’re open Monday - Saturday, so drop by and see the roast in action whilst sipping on a cup of fresh espresso made by one of our award-winning baristas. We recently added a nifty takeout coffee window down the right hand side of the roastery with another espresso machine to take care of those that are in a bit more of a hurry.

There’s a tasty selection of treats (including the world-famous Hawthorne scones) to nibble on, and once you’ve discovered just how good our coffee really is, you can have some freshly roasted beans weighed, ground, and bagged for you to take home.

There’s also free wireless internet and a stack of mags - we’ve got a few customers who spend so much time in our cafe that we’re considering introducing a bunk-bed area in the back. On the first Saturday of every month, Hawthorne plays host to Craft & Design Market, which sees our outdoor area and carpark taken over by a fabulous collection of stalls selling beautiful handmade products."
